AN INTER-GENERATIONAL ACTIVITY FOR AZUR RESIDENCES

AN INTER-GENERATIONAL ACTIVITY FOR AZUR RESIDENCES

On Wednesday May 18, was held the annual edition of the “Course autour du lac du Village”. The Montarville elementary school, which organized the event, had invited AZUR & COGIR residents to take part to this activity for the second year.  Also in attendance was the Grand Défi Pierre-Lavoie’s  Cogir-Desjardins cyclist team.

Senior residents from AZUR’s L'Émérite de Brossard and Jardins Intérieurs residences rounded off the event by completing the last loop on foot, to encourage students to increase their physical activity levels. The event was held from 8:30 am to noon; students kicked off the event at 8:30 and seniors started their walk at 11:30.

AZUR seniors are already involved in the Healthy Aging Grand Walk, a popular walking activity across the AZUR network; for this reason, the “Course autour du lac du village” event has a special place in our seniors’ hearts. As for the students, they were proud to take part in this event held under the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie.

The COGIR-DESJARDINS cyclist team takes part in the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie and has the objective of raising funds for Montarville & Mont-Bruno schools, to help them purchase sports equipment and encourage kids and teens to be more active.

Thank you to AZUR L’Émérite de Brossard and Jardins Intérieurs residences for their participation!
